Provenance: This work is from the Phyllis Dolgin Estate in NYC. Phyllis Dolgin was married to Irving Joseph, the conductor, and the couple was active in the Civil Rights movement in the United States in the 1960's.Artist unknown.

(From the NY Times Obituary):DOLGIN--Phyllis, 86, noted writer, producer, teacher, actress, and civil rights activist died June 4th. Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, pianist and musical conductor Irving Joseph (Phyllis' love story with Irving was published in the New York Times), her partner, Herb Cousins and her brother David Dolgin (Ann). She is survived by nephews, Gary Dolgin and Sanford Dolgin, niece Sara Kaplan, all of Tampa, and many grand-nephews and nieces. Phyllis' memoir, The Candy Store and Other Bon Bons is available on Amazon.
