Description
Featured in this lot are these Occupied Japan era "birds of paradise" bronze bookends. “Occupied Japan” refers to the years 1945 through 1951 when western forces occupied Japan. The export sticker can be seen on the inside of one of the bookends. The bookends show wonderful textured decoration with feathers and wonderfully designed bird heads. The condition of these bookends is good, with some fading to the paint adorning the outside of the bookends. The measurements of this pair of bookends are 8 3/4" x 3 1/2" x 4 5/8".
