James Earl Jones' "Clear and Present Danger" 5-Piece Costume Ensembles W/Wardrobe Tags - These costume pieces were worn by James Earl Jones' throughout the filming of the 1994 American political action-thriller film, Clear and Present Danger. The lot includes two hospital gowns, a pair of cotton pajamas from Nordstrom, a navy cotton robe from Nordstrom, and a pair of Daniel Green slippers. James Earl Jones portrays "Vice Admiral Jim Greer" throughout the film, who is stricken with cancer causing Jack Ryan (Harrison Ford) to be appointed acting Deputy Director of Intelligence. Jack Ryan discovers he is being kept in the dark by colleagues who are conducting a covert war against a drug cartel in Colombia, apparently with the approval of the President. These costumes are worn by James Earl Jones throughout the hospital scenes while getting treatment for cancer, including when Jack Ryan tells him of his upcoming plans to go to Colombia, and in the later part of the film while Jack visits him and discusses his discovery of the U.S. Government's involvement with the cartel. The hospital gowns and robe each have an original wardrobe tag handwritten with "James Earl Jones" and various information about the scenes. This ensemble was acquired from The Comisar Collection in 1995 and has not been offered to the public since. The lot will come with a copy of the Comisar purchase invoice (redacted). James Earl Jones has had a career that spans over seven decades, and is regarded as "one of the greatest actors in American history". Over his career Jones has won three Tony Awards (out of five nominations), two Primetime Emmy Awards and a Grammy Award, among a multitude of other honors.
