David Byrd used an ancient drop-boy compass to draw the hundreds of circles in the comingled hair of the band, all by hand, creating a mesmerizing masterpiece. This poster was signed by David Byrd himself in 1968 at the bottom of the piece. Byrd is famous for designing many important concert posters of the 1960s for artists such as The Who, Grateful Dead, and the Rolling Stones, among others. This is an extremely rare and highly collectible psychedelic rock posters, and is prominently featured in the iconic music poster book "The Art O Rock" as plate 2.90. A first printing of this poster was sold at auction in April 2020 for $15,000, and GWS Auctions sold a limited edition giclee re-print this past March for $4800.
