A well listed German artist, 1872-1932, in 1899 became member of the Berliner Secession, exhibited at 1915 Pan-Pacific Exposition in San Francisco, image area 29" X 38 1/2" plus gold frame.Biography from AuctionataUlrich Hübner, born into an important family of artists, started his academic training in Karlsruhe in 1892 under Robert Poetzelberger, Gustav Schönleber, and Carlos Grethe. Subsequently, he attended Friedrich Fehr's private school in Munich.In 1899, Hübner became a member of the Berliner Secession. In 1905, he was one of the first laureates of the Villa Romana Fellowship. Further awards followed and his works were exhibited in Berlin, Munich, Dresden, and even in San Francisco in 1915.In the tradition of the French Impressionists, Hübner painted mainly in and around Berlin as well as in Hamburg, Lübeck, Warnemünde, and Travemünde, where he created many maritime themes.
