c. 1880 Original Watercolor Painting is of a small Steamboat on the Hudson River, not signed or dated. The colors remain crisp and vibrant. On the left hand side of this antique Watercolor Painting are the cliffs of the Hudson River. This particular side-wheeler steamboat depicted here is not one of the large majestic Steamships that traveled the Hudson, but is of a smaller working boat. It has one smokestack a pilot house light and several other prominent features shown. Painting measures about 8" by 19.5" and appears in near perfect condition with only a couple of very trivial spots. It comes framed under early antique thin glass and appears to remain within its original gold matt and 17.25" by 28.75" painted wooden frame, though the original wood backboards have been replaced with a more modern backing. A lovely original painting with a great theme, that is ready for hanging upon display.
