Williamsburg Looking Glass. Colonial Williamsburg foundation though its reproduction program, Friedman Brothers Decorative Arts Inc. Georgian Looking Glass of walnut and gilded gesso frame surmounted by a broken arch pediment. The original circa 1740 hangs in the parlor of the Governers palace, one of a pair. In excellent condition with the most minor flaking. measures 28.75 wide x approx 57.75 high. Provenance: Directly from consigner. Her husband was a doctor on The Main Line, Wayne, Pennsylvania. He predominantly collected Philadelphia silver, London silver and other objects of considerable interest including fine art, period furniture, Oriental rugs and fine reproductions in the manner of Williamsburg Virginia furnishings by kittinger and Baker.
