56 pp. 21.5x14 cm (8½x5½"), modern leather-backed boards.

Noteworthy analysis of the variations between the original California state constitution adopted in 1849 (before actual statehood), and the much-amended, and possibly improved, version ratified in 1879. OCLC locates nine copies - six of those note it as being a "Supplement to Oakland Tribune, Monday, April 28th, 1879." The other listings do not identify a publisher, and one speculates Sacramento as the place of publication. There is no indication in the present copy, and no wrappers, which might have had an identifier if so issued, are present.

Condition

Minor internal toning and aging, evidence of an old vertical crease to contents, binding flaw has caused a small gutter tear to first leaf; very good in fine modern covers.
