Description
Beautiful early 19th Century Georgian English blue and white transferware foot bath produced by Spode. Two handled, and decorated in their Tower pattern, introduced circa 1814. Encircling images of a bridge, houses, and other architectural elements, human figures, and flora. The pattern was inspired by a print of the Bridge of Salaro, published by J. Merigot and R. Edwards in London, 1796-98, in their book "Views of Rome and Its Vicinity." Impressed and printed SPODE marks and Crown to underside.

Good to fair overall condition, having normal age related wear and a hairline to bottom interior of basin. Small brown firing mark to interior basin.
