Description
R.S. Prussia porcelain chocolate set, c1900
Pitcher: 10" tall
4 plates: 5" diameter
4 cups: 3.25" tall.---------------------------------------------Davids notes:Someone wrote us asking if the set might be Japanese, since it unmarked. The term RS Prussia is based on the fact when I was growing up in the antiques business in St.Louis Missouri, all the wares with this type of decoration was called RS Prussia, whether it was marked as such or unmarked.During the first and second World War, Japan was able to copy just about any European ware for export.Any unmarked porcelain that has a European look might be of Japanese origin. The quality of this chocolate set, makes me believe it is European, but it might also be Japanese.I am not going to say I know 100% country of origin.
