The item is in good condition, with traces of tribal use.
There is a nice white kaolin clay layer on the face with some Tukula red and blue pigment. This is a fine and rare mask of the Nkanu, a sub group of DRC’s Yaka People. Of bulbous form and brightly painted the mask is remarkable in presence.
