Rickenbacker, Capt. Edward V. Fighting the Flying Circus (New York: Frederick A. Stokes Company,1919), 12mo (7-1/2 in.), 371 pages, dark blue linen with pictorial paste downs on front and back; inscribed on the back of the half-title page, "To My Little Sweetheart / 'Nancy Jane Baldwin' / Capt Eddie Rickenbacker / 1928."
Eddie Rickenbacker was a household name throughout much of the 20th century. A pioneer aviator, he was credited with shooting down 26 German fighter planes during WWI.
