"No One Else Can Fill Your Shoes" miniature figurine by Philip Kraczkowski, 1975, signed in sculpting material [probably clay], marked on the bottom, "Fine Pewter, Little Gallery, (c) 1975 Hallmark Cards, Inc., Made in U.S.A."

Philip Kraczkowski (1916-1996), Attleboro, Massachusetts, American sculptor best known for designing the original prototype for the G.I. Joe action figure in 1963. Kraczkowski also won commissions to create a life-size bust of FBI director J. Edgar Hoover and a bust of Gen. Curtis LeMay that is on display at the U.S. Air Force Academy.

"I'm not interested in creating monuments," Kraczkowski told the 'Sun Chronicle' of Attleboro in an interview a few years before his death. "I am interested in everyone in the country having one of my sculptures. The only way to do that is to make sculpture that people can afford."
