A pair of yellow ground famille rose bowls dating from the Republic period. Each has a turquoise interior and a 4-character mark on the bottom. The bowls depict 4 figures in a courtly garden with butterflies. A Chinese
Dimensions are: 3 1/4 inches tall X 7 1/2 inches wide, 8.26 cm X 19.05 cm. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: The bowls have glaze skips and a few small chips to the rim, one has a star crack to the bottom visible on the interior and exterior.
Provenance: From a private New York City collection.
