Description
A group of three Chinese famille rose porcelain items dating from the late 19th century. The first item is a round seal box depicting three mythological figures on the lid and tracery on its sides. It has a 4-character mark on the bottom. The second item is a wall vase with two trefoil cavities. The cavities are connected to a flat backing, and there are two ceramic bars between them. The front of the wall vase depicts a landscape scene with three mythological figures. The third item is a teapot with scenes of children playing and scholars examining a scroll. The lid has a peach-shaped finial, and the bottom of the teapot has a 2-character mark.
Dimensions are: The wall vase measures 5 1/4 inches tall X 8 1/4 inches wide, 13.3 cm X 21 cm. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: The seal box has a star crack to the interior of the base. The wall vase has chips to the upper corners as well as a missing support strut behind one of the bars. The teapot has a star crack to the interior.
Provenance: From Mr. Cheng in La Jolla, California. Acquired in Hong Kong in the 1980s.
