This lot consists of a framed gouache illustration on paper, done in the style of famed magazine illustrator Norman Rockwell (American, 1894-1978). "Norman Rockwell" is hand painted at lower right corner. The image depicts a young girl staring directly at the viewer, her pudgy face framed by a dramatic black bonnet. This piece is replete with the striking realism and sweet subject matter that Norman Rockwell was (and is) so beloved for. Framed dimensions approximately 17" x 13".

Reverse side of piece features an affixed paper label.

Norman Rockwell (American, 1894-1978) enjoyed commercial success from the onset of his illustrious career. Rockwell was a regular cover artist for publications such as Popular Science and the Saturday Evening Post, even being commissioned as a "military artist" during his time of service with the U.S. military during the Second World War. In the United States, the works of Norman Rockwell have a broad appeal due to their sentimental reflection of our nation's early culture. These priceless works have become defining, familiar images from one generation to the next.
