Good original finish, upholstery appears to be original. Designed in 1906 by Josef Hoffman for the Wiener Werkstatte. Also featured in the J. & J. Kohn catalogues as model no. 728. Hoffmann chose this design for seating in Vienna's Cabaret Fledermaus that opened October 1907. During the time, the design was bold and radical. A slight variant of the design for 170-115A the chair is un-stamped but may well be by either Kohn or Mundus. Made of solid beech, the wood is bent and stained brown and upholstered in Hoffmann designed fabric.
