A LOUIS XV STYLE ROSEWOOD BUREAU PLAT WITH ORMOLU MOUNTS
Circa 1920
The rectangular tooled tobacco color leather inset writing surface bounded by a heavy cast gilt bronze border, above three locking drawers outlined in delicately chased ormolu with escutcheoned handles and parquetry reserves. The rosewood body is also outlined with ormolu and gilt bronze female masks with floral festoons and supported by tapering cabriole legs terminating in intricate pierced sabots.

Condition: Original leather, still supple but now matte. 31 1/2 x 65 x 33 inches (80 x 165 x 84 cm)
