1848 Holy Lyfe of Princess Saint Werburge Old English Bradshaw Chester England
Henry Bradshaw was a 15th-century English poet best known for his poem “The Holy Lyfe and History of Saynt Werburge”. Bradshaw intended to cover the life of patron saint of his hometown of Chester, England. Saint Werbrugh was a princess who was known for her convent reforms throughout England.
This 1848 edition of Bradshaw’s ‘Holy Lyfe’ was edited by Edward Hawkins who published it as a 19th-century facsimile of the 1521 printing, complete with illustrations in the style of the original woodcuts.
