Johnson by T. Bensley, 1803. Second edition. Quarto. viii, [ix-xi, Contents], [xii, Errata], [1]-610 pages. Contemporary sheep with gilt border and frame and floral blind-stamping on the covers. Red leather title label affixed to the spine, lettered in gilt. Gilt inner dentelles. Marbled endpapers and text edges. Binding rubbed and worn, with corners exposed. Boards recently re-attached along the hinges. Bookplate to front pastedown. Two small ink stains to fore-edge. Scattered foxing to text. Small area of corner loss to 3O2. A mostly very clean copy in very good condition.
