An Italian gilt bronze mounted fruitwood bureau cabinet
incorporating antique and later elements
The arched mirrored door enclosing a configuration of shelves and drawers centering an arch enclosing a cipher mount AO under a coronet, above a slant front reversing to a writing surface and enclosing eight drawers, the lockplate engraved with a ducal coat of arms and motto NOSCE TE IPSUM, on casters.

Structurally sound. With a light even nutty brown color overall. Assembled from antique and later elements as stated. General marks, nicks, scratches, cracking, visible old woodworm, patched repair and overpainted restoration. Door difficult to open. Interior later configured or with previous elements lacking. Mirror plate replaced - appears fairly modern. Very dark and grey. Oxidation to mounts and hardware. Shrinkage cracking to sides and separation to joints at front. Notable wear and discolored restoration to bracket feet. One key - bent. Lock to top tumbles but door difficult to open. Possibly previously with finials.
