This is a rare edition of "A Daughter of the Sioux" by Gen. Charles King, published in 1903 by The Hobart Company. It is illustrated by the famous Frederick Remington and Edwin Willard Deming. "A Daughter of the Sioux" is a classic tale of the Old West and the demise of the Indian. The book was written by Gen. Charles King, a United States soldier and a distinguished writer. He graduated from West Point in 1866 and served in the Army during the Indian Wars under George Crook. He was wounded in the arm, forcing his retirement from the regular army. During this time, he became acquainted with Buffalo Bill Cody. King would later write scripts for several of Cody's silent films. He wrote and edited over 60 books and novels. The book's construction is in good condition, with slight wear on the spine and the front cover. The book measures 51/2" X 71/2".
