Description
Featured in this lot is this Albert Bierstadt lithograph of a covered wagon framed in a Lambert Custom frame. The lithograph shows a scene of a covered wagon train with a setting sun in the distance. The artist’s signature is in the bottom right hand corner. The frame shows wonderfully decorated soft wood in the design of a covered wagon from Lambert Custom Saddlery. The condition of this framed litho is good, with no obvious signs of damage. Albert Bierstadt was a German-American painter best known for his lavish, sweeping landscapes of the American West. He joined several journeys of the Westward Expansion to paint the scenes. He was not the first artist to record the sites, but he was the foremost painter of them for the remainder of the 19th century. The measurements of this framed litho are 31 3/4" x 38 1/2" and the visible art measures 19 3/8" x 31 1/8".
