A MATCHING SHIBAYAMA STYLE INLAID AND LACQUERED TORTOISESHELL KUSHI (COMB) AND WOOD KOGAI (HAIRPIN) SET
Japan, Meiji period (1868-1912)
The matching comb and hairpin both decorated in gold and black hiramaki-e and takamaki-e with Shibayama style inlays of mother-of-pearl, depicting flowers and butterflies, each with the gold-lacquered signature.
LENGTH 13.8 cm (the hairpin) and 8.6 cm (the comb)
Condition: Very good condition with some wear.
Provenance: Hungarian collection.
