AE: $75,0000 to $100,000Robert Indiana was born Robert Clark who was born in New Castle, Indiana. He was a pop artist during the counter culture movement of the 1960s, hence the dashing surname change to that of his home state. One of his most iconic pieces began life as a pint in 1965; it became large scale sculpture at the Indianapolis Museum of Art in 1970. Since then, the sculpture has been rendered in various ways across the globe. In 1973 it became a US postage stamp. This piece was one of many well-known works by Indiana. Hess Fine Auctions is excited to auction such a rare gift from one of the most famous pop artists of the 20th century.
