Description
his large French map of Paris circa 1870 was edited by “Auguste Logerot ( 1841-1879) . Logerot made use of the works of the well known cartographers Fremin, Dufour, Dyonnet, and Vuillemin. He published map, atlases, folding case maps and jigsaw puzzle maps. He was active at Quai des Augustins 55, Paris.This map feature the old fortification named Thiers fortification ,
the Thiers wall (Enceinte de Thiers) was the last of the defensive walls of Paris. It was an enclosure constructed between 1841 and 1846 and was proposed by the French prime minister Adolphe Thiers but was actually implemented by his successor. Today it became what is know as the "Boulevard Périphérique " or freeway .It mentioned the damage of the commune political revolt of 1871 with red m,arking of the offocial building destroyed .
Size: H.42 x L.29 overall good condition but not pristine , would make a great statement framed .Linen backing with it original case .I guaranty my Antiques to be original
