Victor Vasarely (Hungarian, 1906-1997). Silkscreen print titled "Olympische Spiele," 1972, depicting a spiral in gradient shades of blue and gold on a black ground. Signed in the plate along the lower right. Text along the lower right reads: "[copyright] Edition Olympia 1972 GmbH 1971. Official Emblem for the Games of the XXth Olympiad Munich 1972, created by Graphicteam Cologne, re-designed in color gradations by Victor Vasarely, edition 3,000." A gallery label from Place/Allrich Galleries, San Francisco, California, is affixed to the verso. Provenance: Distinguished corporate collection, Minnesota. Sight; height: 39 1/2 in x width: 31 in.
