Large oval relief or wall sculpture of carved wood depicting a scene from Greek mythology in which Zeus, who fell in love with the youth Ganymede, took the form of an eagle and carried him to Mount Olympus, where he became cup-bearer to the gods. The scenes is often depicted in classical art as the beautiful youth feeding an eagle.
