**First Time At Auction**
Western Europe, England or France, ca. 18th to 19th century CE. A charming tin etui for holding metal tools for drafting. Included are 2 metal tools: a ruler and drafting divider. The case is etched with floral motifs and birds on each side. The overall shape resembles a lighter and the cap has a push button release to reveal the interior that contains a wooden insert divider for the tools the slip into. In total, seven different tools could fit into the case. The ruler measures up to 6 inches and both the ruler and divider fold in half to store inside the etui, making this a convenient travel set for draftsmen. Size: 3.675" L x 1" W (9.3 cm x 2.5 cm)

Surface abrasions and scratches. Tip to divider is slightly bent. Light patina and dark toning on all pieces. Lid opens and button catch still works. Ruler and divider articulate. Missing 5 tools.
