Egypt, Romano-Egyptian period, ca. 30 BCE to 2nd century CE. A stunning set of glass beads in gorgeous shades of turquoise, teal, aquamarine, cobalt, navy, white, and yellow, all fixed to a wearable modern strand with a metal loop and lobster clasp combo. The ancient adornment is comprised of barrel, discoid, spherical, conjoined, and tubular beads arranged by size, expanding towards the center of the chain, with a sizeable barrel bead in a translucent hue of sky blue at the center. Each end of the strand is additionally adorned by a lovely modern metal bead of spherical form boasting a lustrous tone of silver. A beautiful example of modern fashion meets ancient art! Wearable. All glass beads are ancient, but strand, clasp, loop, and spacer beads are modern. Losses to at least 2 beads. All beads have some nicks and abrasions, commensurate with age and wear. Otherwise, excellent with nice earthen deposits throughout.
