Born into a famed family of weavers, Ruby Manuelito was the daughter of Frances Manuelito and the granddaughter of Blind Man's Wife. She was the daughter-in-law of Gladys Manuelito, "Mrs. Sam", the niece of Navajo Medicine Man Hastiin Klah. Klah was the first to render a Sandpainting image in permanent form as a wool weaving.
