there are scattered oxidation spots to the mirror plate; there is some loss to the silvering on the reverse side of the divided mirror plate, notably, along the center area where the two mirror plates come into contact with each other; the mirror plates now have a uniform, slightly dark gray coloration; there are scattered flake losses to the gilding and gesso; in some areas, the gesso is now exposed; there are scattered nicks and abrasions to the frame; there has been previous restoration to the frame, including a repair and loss to the flaming torch at the top left side of the crest at the top; areas of the frame have been gold overpainted where there once was gilding; etc.; not examined from behind
