Outstanding 3 piece tea set by John Samuel Hunt,dated 1854 and London.Weight: 61.755 ozt
Teapot: 7" tall
Creamer: 5.75" tall
Compote: 5.5" tall.
Davids notes: A really magnificent 3 piece set in great condition from the 19th century.
(From Waxantiques.com):John Samuel Hunt, nephew of Paul Storr, worked for Storr for many years as a Chaser. In 1826 Hunt became a partner in of the well known firm of Storr & Mortimer. Following Paul Storr's retirement in December 1838, the business became Mortimer & Hunt, the partners being John Mortimer, John Samuel Hunt, and his son, John Hunt.
The coat of arms shown is (with the latin phrase Non Sine Periculo, or 'not without danger') appears to be from the Freer family.
Teapot: 7" tall
Creamer: 5.75" tall
Compote: 5.5" tall.
