Description
Europe, Italy, ca. 18th to 19th century CE. A coral ovoid cameo of an elegant lady in profile in a Greco-Roman classical style. Her hair is swept back into a bun with delicate facial features. The top portion of her clothing is visible with a clasp at the shoulder. During the Neo-Classical period, European artists revived the ancient Greek and Roman cameo-carving style which this cameo beautifully embodies. Size: .75" L x .5" W (1.9 cm x 1.3 cm)
