Description
Slavery.- St. Vincent Partially printed 'Monthly Statistical Account of the Park Hill Estate, St. Vincent, from 1st March to 1st April 1833', detailing the numbers of those living on the plantation, the details of their jobs (at field work, coopers, carpenters, masons, domestics, stock-keepers, watchmen), as well as the number of horses, oxen and cows, two pages, with a letter from Robert Cameron to the plantation's owner Allan MacDowald in Edinburgh with some observation on the crop ("the weather continues to bloom as bleak and dry as before, the Bay as rough as ever, this dry parching weather is much against our young plants and caused an immense numbed of supplies to be necessary"), the document also features other annotations in another hand, four pages in total, folding marks with some occasional splitting and losses, remnants of red wax seal, light soiling and toning, folio, 5 April 1833.
