Pennsylvania, 1884-1956.Oil on artist board, signed lower left. Autumn scene with fields and red barn. 12"h. 16"w., birch bark veneer frame, 15.5"h. 19.5"w.
This painting was gifted to the father of the current owner in 1957 by Russell Earnest Baum (1883-1979), Walter’s cousin. Russell was a Philadelphia businessman who supported Walter and his passions for both art and teaching, ultimately bestowing his art collection to Walter’s founded namesake, The Baum School of Art, in Allentown, Pennsylvania, upon his death in 1979.
