This painting was gifted to the father of the current owner in 1957 by Russell Earnest Baum (1883-1979), Walterâ€™s cousin. Russell was a Philadelphia businessman who supported Walter and his passions for both art and teaching, ultimately bestowing his art collection to Walterâ€™s founded namesake, The Baum School of Art, in Allentown, Pennsylvania, upon his death in 1979.
