Description
Meiji Okimono, signed on the underside, depicting Hachiman or Yahata no Kami, the Shinto God of War and Archery, worshipped by Samurai Warriors. He is shown being brought to life by six makers, one of which has leaned a ladder against the front of the already angry statue; all the others are standing around him on inverted buckets, crates and benches, flourishing chisels or brushes, the group set on a kidney shaped footed platform, 6" x 4" x 2 1/2". Good condition, a few tools gone.
