The shield-shaped brooch of open-work scrolling grape vines set throughout with 5 oval and round amethysts, freshwater pearl accents, centering one old mine-cut diamond ap. .55, unsigned, c. 1900, ap. 7.8 dwts.

Condition
Amethysts: medium purple with lavender hues, cleanish to slightly included, lively.

Pearls: silvery-gray to creamy white, baroque shapes, medium luster.

Diamond: G-H-VS, slightly cushion-shaped.

1 1/2 x 1 1/4 inches. Patina in one section near bottom visible on front and reverse.
