Description

CHINESE EXPORT LEATHER-COVERED CAMPHOR WOOD CHEST / TRUNK, original brass bound edges and corners, brass bail handles, and brass-tack decoration. Excellent dry surface. Early 19th century. 16 1/4" H, 36 1/2" x 18 1/2".
Very good condition, leather intact with only scattered light wear, minor buckling to leather on one end, a few small dents to brass.
Provenance: The collection of the late Theodore "Ted" and Alvina Breckel, Oley, PA and Winnetka, IL.
