PENNSYLVANIA FOLK / TRAMP ART CARVED WOODEN WALL BOX, featuring a shaped backboard with a diamond and rectangular cut-outs, box front featuring cut-outs of a heart, a tulip, and a four-point star having fabric backings and bordered by applied chip-carved frame. Retains original dry surface. Fourth quarter 19th century. 9 1/8" HOA, 5" WOA, 2 3/4" DOA.
Very good overall condition with expected wear, fabric with stains and some fraying.
Provenance: The collection of the late Theodore "Ted" and Alvina Breckel, Oley, PA and Winnetka, IL.
