Description
AMERICAN FOLK ART PAINTED WOOD FIGURAL ARTICLES, LOT OF THREE, comprising a large shaving straight razor with hinged silver-painted blade and handles with black paint remnants, a carved oversized skeleton key with gold-painted finish, and a carved ax found in Maine having a natural handle and a painted blade. Late 19th/first half 20th century. Razor 27" LOA open, 17" L blade, 15 5/8" L handles.
Very good overall condition with some wear, razor with cracks at ends of handle, ax with crack at terminal of handle.
Provenance: The collection of the late Theodore "Ted" and Alvina Breckel, Oley, PA and Winnetka, IL.
