ERNEST "POPEYE" REED (OHIO, 1919-1985) FOLK ART CARVED SANDSTONE FIGURE OF AN OWL, with wide eyes and textured feathers, raised on a circular mound, signed "E. REED" to underside. Second half 20th century. 5" H, 3 1/4" D base.
Good condition, loss to edge of base at rear and shallow chip to underside of base in font, possibly as made.
Provenance: The collection of the late Theodore "Ted" and Alvina Breckel, Oley, PA and Winnetka, IL.
