Lamp is signed AUG MOREAU on right side. Lamp is vintage possibly antique. Piece has bronze finish. Lamp depicts a barefoot female figure carrying a basket surrounded by birds. Lamp has black toned base which appears to be wooden. Lamp measures approx 34 inches tall 8.5 inches wide. Lamp includes finial. Piece has 2 bulb sockets. Lamp, signed lamp, French lamp, Auguste Moreau lamp, vintage lamp, table lamp, side table lamp, art nouveau lamp, end table lamp. Piece has evident wear, piece also has hole near base in center. Auguste Moreau (1834 – 1917) was a French sculptor born in Dijon. The third and youngest son of sculptor and painter Jean-Baptiste Moreau, Auguste began creating sculptural works alongside his older brothers Hippolyte and Mathurin. In 1861, Auguste Moreau made his debut at the Salon, where he exhibited regularly and abundantly until 1913. Moreau cast much of his sculptural work in bronze, often choosing
