Based in Lagos, Nigeria, Melvin J. Fox traveled extensively throughout the region. The artifacts in his collection were gathered during his 26 years in West Africa.
Korhogo is a type of mud cloth that originates from Korhogo in Côte d'Ivoire. Made by the Senufo people, the textile is a hand-woven and hand-spun cotton fabric decorated with hand-painted designs which are rooted in Senufo culture and mythology.
