Robert Warren Loberg (1927 -1999) taught in two of the best art programs in the Bay Area, UC Berkeley and San Francisco Art Institute, and his work was shown regularly at local galleries and museums. His abstractions of the late 1950s and early 1960s are notable for their collage-based compositions, their incorporation of spray paint and for his oblique personal painterly language. Because Loberg's studio burned in a fire, his work rarely comes up for sale.
