The Finest Certified example at all the major services is an ms66+. On this wild variety it has the largest shifted Double Die in the entire Peace and Morgan Series, bar none. The Variety has been listed in the Guide Book for several years with a sizeable premium. The Medium D mintmark distinguishes VAM-3 from VAM-4, which has a Small D. Of course, any MS66+ 1934-D dollar is desirable, since the typical certified representative of the low mintage issue grades only MS63. Precisely struck and lustrous with virtually no toning. Both the Obverse and reverse is essentially immaculate. But for the Minor Mint Error, as made Rim notch, this coin would be tied for finest known at ms67+.
