Item Details

Description

The photo album of Olivia Seaman (name in gilt on front cover.) Second half of the 19th century. An oblong 4to album bound in morocco, lacks clasp. Containing 52 CDVs and 6 tintypes, including CDVs of Generals George McClellan and Benjamin Butler. Most of the CDVS have the photographer's identification on rear (mostly from New Jersey.) Laid in is a red and white cloth bookmark with the words, "To My Teacher." An attractive album.

Condition

Binding shows light wear, rubbing, but all intact. Contents are very good. Overall the album appears to have been well cared-for and does not exhibit the heavy wear often seen with these sorts of items.
