Description
The English Pinxton porcelain factory worked only from 1796 to 1813, and in that time produced porcelain that is rare and highly prized.
This piece is decorated with pattern 300, which is illustrated in the book Pinxton Porcelain, by Sheppard, which refers to it as an "important service." A teacup, coffee cup and saucer from this service were sold at Bonhams London on November 2, 2015, Lot 151.
Each side of the bowl has a different hand painted scene, enclosed by a heavy gilt frame.
The piece is clearly marked with the Pinxton mark and pattern number.
No visible chips or cracks, but examination with black light shows significant restoration, which includes one handle and the surrounding area.
We were asked about what appeared to be a smudge mark on the bottom; actually, it was a remnant of an old paper tag. We removed the bit of old label and retook the photos of the bottom.
Measures about 7 1/2" wide by 5" high.
Please note that the shipping charge listed is for the U.S. 48 States only, for shipping charges elsewhere please inquire
