Mammoth plate albumen prints are very rare and limited to the few photographers who had these giant view cameras. For example in the American West William Henry Jackson, F. Jay Haynes, Carleton Watkins, Charles Weed, Bradley & Rulofson and Thomas Houseworth had these cameras, though sometimes they loaned them to the artists and other operators. It is thought that Charles Weed made mammoth plates in Japan in the 1860s.

Overall tones are 6 on a scale of 10. Print has minor emulsion loss in a few spots, needs spotting in other areas, has mild abrasions and scuffs, with some mounting crinkles on the left edge. Mount has stains and discoloration with a repair to the mount top right. Overall physical condition 6 on a scale of 10.
