An exceptional early decorative by one of the Midwest's finest decoy makers. The carving was done with subtle, yet extensive attention to detail, such as layered feathers on the wings and tail and an open bill. The paint was executed with equal refinement.

Included with the bird is the original base depicting an elaborate jet of water under the rising mallard.
Original paint with light wear including minor flaking on top of head.
